About Us

The Treefree Saddles were designed by Tom Widdecome and Johan Ulvede. Tom has applied his years of experience and research into natural horsemanship and behavioural patterns into creating a saddle that provides a better experience for both the horse and the rider. Johan with his experience as a Master Saddler and designer was able to turn the concept into reality.

The saddles are manufactured by Viking Saddlery, based in Buckfastleigh in South Devon and run by Johan Ulvede and Andrea Northcott.

 

Viking Saddlery use only the best quality materials for use in their saddles, including the finest full-grain leather and suede.



Johan and Andrea are Master Saddlers, both originally having studied saddlery  at the well-known Cordwainers College in London.
